Teen Choice Awards 2012: Pink Carpet Fashion

The ladies really outdid themselves this year at the Teen Choice awards! There were so many amazing outfits but I’ve managed to narrow my list down to the top 5 best dressed of the night.

One of the show’s co-host, 19 year old Demi Lovato, wore a sequin Falguni + Shane peacock dress. She was very fashion-forward and I actually loved her futuristic ponytail! She topped off her outfit with a pair of sky high Christain Louboutin heels. She rocked it!

Birthday girl of the night, Selena Gomez, looked amazing in a hot pink Dsquared2 A-line dress. She’s sporting lighter ombre highlights and her sleek long tresses looked amazing. She also wore Herve Leger strappy heels and a gold arm bracelet and ring. Happy 20th Birthday Selena! You looked fantastic!
22-year-old Taylor Swift wore an ethereal Maria Lucia Hohan dress with Prada dress peep toe sling back heels. This dress showed us that she’s still demure but definitely growing up. The revealing back was a sexy detail and my favorite part of the dress!

Glee’s Lea Michelle opted for a strapless Versace dress with a sweetheart neckline and Versace platform pumps. The pink floral detailing on the dress was absolutely stunning! She wore her wavy hair loose with ombre highlights as well.

Nina Dobrev wore an asymmetrical Teal J. Mendel dress. The bodice of the dress was super flattering on the Vampire Diaries starlet. She paired her outfit with gold Jimmy Choo shoes and wore her hair lose with small braids.

Moving onto the worst dressed of the night.
I really do love Jordin Sparks, but I just didn’t think the Chagourey Couture dress she wore was flattering on her. With her amazing body,  I wish she would’ve opted for something as little more form fitting. The bubble skirt washes her shape out and the sequin halter makes her look wider than she is. I do like the neon dress and ankle strap pumps she changed into to later on in the night to present the Teen Choice Movie comedy award.

I love the fact that JoJo is proud of her curves. Sadly, I think that she opted for a tank and a skirt that were just a little but too tight for her. She would’ve looked dazzling in something slightly more loose.

This year, Hayden Panettiere decided to wear a sequin Zuhair Murad dress with matching B by Brian Atwood pumps. I liked the dress itself, I just felt that her entire ensemble was too matchy-matchy. She should’ve kept the focus on her dress and accessorized with simple shoes and a solid color clutch.

I wasn’t a fan of Debbie Ryan’s Bibhu Mohapatra printed dress. Perhaps it’s the placement of the print or the shoulder openings, but I just don’t think it was age appropriate. She’s a beautiful young actress who should have opted for something more fun.

One guy made it onto my worst dressed list! On the pink carpet, co-presenter Kevin Mchale wore a black and white color-block shirt and a pair of Naked and Famous leopard print pants with wing-tip oxfords. He definitely had better outfits throughout the night; this was not one of them. He should have opted for a pair of solid slacks…maybe that would have helped out his ensemble? What do you think?
