Let me start off by saying that unfortunately, there were
only a handful of dresses that I liked at the Premios Juventud award show.
The 4 best dressed ladies of the night were Belinda, Blanca
Soto, Ana Brenda Contreras and Verónica Bastos. I liked each of their outfits, (shown
above), but I do have some pointers on how I think these beautiful women could
have looked even better on the blue carpet. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The Mexican actress and singer, Belinda, wore a very modern short
sequin dress with mesh sleeves and feather detailing. As much as this dress was
extremely busy, she pulled it off wonderfully. The dress was fun, young and appropriate
for the night. Her navy peep toe pumps and small black clutch were great
touches to her ensemble. I do wish she had worn studs earrings versus the long/large
stone earrings she had on. When you have all of that busy work going on, the
MAIN thing to remember ladies, is to keep everything else simple. LESS is MORE.
Her makeup was minimal and her ombre hair looked amazing. So really, the only
thing I had a problem with was her chunky earrings (again…with this particular
dress). They should have been a little more understated. Diamond studs perhaps?
Nonetheless, she was definitely one of the best dressed ladies of the night.
(So much so – she’s on this list twice!)
I consider myself a bi-cultural individual. I speak Spanish
as easily as I speak English. I was born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens and
my parents are both Ecuadorian. I lived in the beautiful country for about a
year when I was growing up – sure not a lot of time, but enough to
never-ever forget to speak and write in Spanish. So what do I like? What music
do I listen to? Well simply everything and to me, that’s the beauty of being
bi-cultural. I love all kinds of music, Pop, Latin Pop, Rock, Latin Rock - you
get the picture. As for TV - ask me if I watch a Telenovela and I will
automatically answer no. Sure I’ve watched my share of Thalia novelas growing
up, think back to MariMar and Maria La Del Barrio, but I mean c’mon! Who hasn’t? As time progressed, I outgrew the stereotypical poor girl marries a rich
boy story-line, (vice-versa).

Unas de las
cosas que deben saber de mi es que ¡me fascina la playa! Me encanta acostarme
debajo del sol y simplemente perderme en el momento. Para mí, la playa es un lugar
de paz y relajación. A mis padres les
encanta el clima cálido. Cuando era pequeña, nos llevaban (a mi hermana y a
mi), a pasear por la ciudad de Florida y disfrutar del sol de Fort Lauderdale.
A veces íbamos hasta Ecuador a disfrutar de nuestras vacaciones veraniegas. Los
meses de invierno en NY se ponen muy fríos, y es por eso que siempre trato de
aprovechar del verano lo más que pueda.
Cuando comienza la temporada veraniega, el maquillaje ligero es ideal para la piel. No quieres ser esa chica que ves en la calle sudando, a la cual se le está saliendo el maquillaje. ¡Qué horror! Por eso es muy importante tener unos productos en que confías cuando comienza a calentar. Les voy a contar de los 6 esenciales que yo uso. No puedo ni quiero estar sin ellos.
